this is maria she is one of our new girls. maria has been in our class for four weeks now. she has lots of friends in the school.

this is jessica pike, she has been in our class for 5 days now an she already has made lots of new friends.

All of our planning came together on Friday at 12:10 when our spider drink sales started.The bell rang and way more children arrived then we had expected. Good thing we were organised with lines for each team, jobs for each student and a desire to raise some money for our cause. We all worked together and ended up selling 233 spider drinks. I can’t wait to send the $233.00 into the Red Cross Christchurch Appeal next week. Congratulations Room 9, you did it!!

In room9 (us) we are selling spider drinks to our school. We are doing this to fund raise money for the Christchurch earthquake. The earthquake was 7.1

In Room 9 we have been looking for a way to raise money to help meet the needs of people in Christchurch after the earthquake. Here is an interesting video where some kids around our age explain their experiences.

This is our new student teacher Miss Fowler. She will be in our class for 2 weeks.

For the next 2 weeks we will be going swimming at the Makino. Everyone is doing it!!! Mrs McIntyre took videos of us swimming so we could set some goals for ourselves. Here's Alex in his first session, Enjoy!!! :)

a few days ago we had to present our speechs in our class. Haylee and Connor represented us in the speech finals. They both did awsome jobs and Haylee came in first place. Great job Haylee for making into the inter-schools!!!!

Great work on this weeks photo challange Room 9. I love the devil on your shoulder idea. The rugby ball was good thinking girls, it worked out well. Maybe next time we can use the field when it's a bit dryer.

Our technology unit is off to an amazing start!! Congratulations to Rachel and Chloe who won our first class BP challange. It is great to see how creative you all are!!

This photo is an optical illusion. The shoe is actually far smaller than the people but it is made to look larger by placing it closer to the camera. The people are then made to look smaller by being placed further away. Your challenge is to create your own optical illusion photos.Take a look at the photos that we have in the class to get some ideas.

When Miss Lewis came into Room 9 she taught us a type of art called tapa. We made a HUGE mat of different tapa art designs. We made a few and had to choose our favourite one to put on the tapa cloth.

This is Miss Lewis. She is training to be a teacher at Massey University and she is with room nine for the next three weeks. Right now we are learing how to do tapa art patterns. We love to have her around and working with us.

The Jets came to teach us some of their skills on Tuesday!!! Look out for the article that Haylee, Amelia and Danica wrote for the Feilding Herald on this event. It should be in next Tuesday's paper!!!!

Chloe, Ethan and James- All 3 Jets kept us busy with exciting activities. It was great fun!!!
Connor and Lachlan- It was exciting to get our shirt and sheets signed.
Cassandra and Olivia- The games were fun but also challanging
Denee and Trinity- We were so excited, we finally got to meet the Jets and get our arms signed.
Jessica and Tessa- It was super fun meeting the Jets. They were really tall!!!!
Rebecca and Tayla - We played some games and they were spectacular. We had a lot of fun.
Haylee, Danica and Amelia- It felt funny standing next to such tall people.

and we have been training hard in Room 9. I think we're getting pretty good!!! What do you think??

Room 9 had an amazing time celebrating their marble jar party at the Lido in Palmerston North today!!! It was great to see you all laughing and having such a good time. Have a safe and happy weekend and I'll see you all back in class on Wednesday.

Rachel brought in her new puppy Zoe to school yesterday!!! We rated her cutie of the year.Ohhh, enjoy the new member of your family Rachel.
